If your custom cursor isn't appearing, don't worry — it's almost always a quick fix. Work through the checks below in order and you'll usually have it sorted in under a minute.
1. Refresh the tab
This solves it most of the time. Pages that were already open when you picked a cursor need a single refresh before the new design appears. Newly opened tabs update on their own.
2. Check whether the page is a restricted one
Browsers block all extensions from running on certain pages, so no cursor will show on:
- Internal pages like chrome:// settings or the extensions page
- The browser's web store
- The new-tab page
- Some built-in PDF and file viewers
This is normal and expected. Open any ordinary website and the cursor should appear.
3. Make sure the extension is enabled
Open your browser's Extensions menu and confirm Neon Cursor is turned on. If you recently updated your browser or the extension, toggling it off and on again can help.
4. Re-select your cursor
Visit neoncursor.com, open your chosen design, and click Add again. This re-applies your selection cleanly.
5. Look for conflicts
If you have more than one cursor extension installed, they can compete with each other. Disable the others and keep only the one you want active.
6. Restart the browser
Closing and reopening your browser clears up most temporary glitches. On a very old browser version, updating to the latest release can also resolve display issues.
